Head of Marketing - Full Time, Remote

WeHealth seeks a well-rounded and highly motivated Head of Marketing to support our global growth by helping us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online marketing channels. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for marketing, technology, and public health. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience working for an early-stage, mission-driven technology company in a dynamic and fast-paced global environment, and have an immediate impact. The role will most likely change over time, including leading the strategy on assessing and developing future products. We’re open to discussing various employment and compensation structures.

About the Role

We’ll look to you to lead the marketing strategy and plans, but we suspect our marketing program will involve:

  • Brand positioning and messaging (define and amplify our who, what, why, how)
  • Content marketing (content frameworks, blogging, video, website, etc.)
  • Integrated comms planning (Email, in-app marketing, etc.)
  • Sales marketing (develop materials)
  • Case advocacy program (case studies, testimonials, campaigns, reviews)
  • Social media strategy (and resourcing for management)
  • Generating PR (in collaboration with our PR lead)
  • Competitive strategy
  • Multiple Press Kits to support external communications

Here are some of the questions we’ll be asking ourselves ~6 months post hire to determine whether the role was a success:

  • Did they oversee the execution of marketing initiatives that led to meaningful growth in our sales, partnerships and app users?
  • Have they been able to figure out how to get things done, given the resource constraints of a small startup with no other current dedicated marketing staff?
  • Have they developed a deep understanding of our customer?
  • Have they cultivated our community?

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing for technology or healthcare
  • Ability to switch between strategy and execution and do what it takes to get things done
  • Hubspot expertise highly preferred, familiar with marketing automation is a must
  • Ability to run a team
  • You’ve worked and thrived in roles with vague titles like “first marketing hire” that have abstract mandates like “make us grow.” You can point to experiences successfully creating and launching marketing programs
  • You look at a company like us, and you have a vision for how to make it get big
  • You’re versatile and resourceful enough to figure out how to execute a strategy that employs subdisciplines in which you have just enough experience

Location

WeHealth is a completely distributed team. There do seem to be a number of us in California, but that’s not required. Since we’re incorporated in the U.S., U.S. laws will apply in what we do.

Compensation

The cash compensation is at the level of early-stage startups (in the range of $50-80k a year), enough to cover expenses and to make work sustainable. We also offer very generous equity and very good health care and other benefits.

Timeline

This position is needed immediately as it's one of the most critical roles that we need to fill in order to help service governments and organizations that need these services.
